  2. This version is to fix an honest mistake that happened while building
  3. the version 2.1 which set the expiration date to a fixed date. The
  4. expiration date is now 30 days from the day you install the software.
  5. My sincere apology to anyone who spent some time downloading. Please
  6. refer to the section entitled ENHANCEMENTS for a list of added features
  7. and bug fixes in this version.

  10. doXbase is an Image Database Management System. Scan,
  11. send and receive fax, import, export, file format conversion, print,
  12. document management, printing and more. Completely
  13. redesigned user interface that allows you to manage all your documents
  14. from one places, The doXplorer.

  16. doXplorer is where you will manage all scanned images. doXplorer will
  17. allow you to scan, view, fax, print, copy, search, browse, import,
  18. export, delete, create new folders, create new drawers, and more. You
  19. can also scan directly to fax, printer, or folder.

  75. 1- The search (Simple) was not giving the correct results when using
  76.    "Number of Pages" or "Annotations"
  77. 2- Import and Export from and to the root directory was not functioning OK.
  78. 3- The progress bar was not giving the correct indication in certain cases.
  79. 5- Other minor bug fixes.

  83. 1- The viewer supports more formats (11 in total)

  85. 2- The viewer in both doXplorer and the Fax Center supports rubber band
  86.    selection --really enhanced the viewer--
  87. 3- doXplorer starts automatically every time you start doXbase.

  92. If you want to use the Search (Expert) to search for -- let us say-- all
  93. folders with the word "Chapter" in the folder name type in this query
  94.  
  95. "Chapter" $ NAME

  97. and if you want it to be case insensitive use this instead
  98. "CHAPTER"  $ UPPER(NAME)
  99.  
  100. I found that the Search Expert is very powerful if you want to filter a
  101. large number of documents.

  103. Also try using the speed menus in the Folders and Files
  104. --click the right mouse button in the Folders or Files panel to get a fast
  105.   access menu--

  108. Scanning double sided documents is simply done by
  109.   1- Scanning odd sides 1, 3, 5 ...etc.
  110.   2- Use the rename function to rename them starting at 1 and increment
  111.      numbering by 2.
  112.   3- Scan the odd pages and rename them starting at 2 and 2 increments.

  116. Copying files is by dragging the selected files and dropping them on the
  117. destination folder in another doXplorer or in the same one.
